(Formerly Hypoaspis miles)
The familiar soil-dwelling predatory mite
Stratiolaelaps scimitus is the most well-known soil predatory mite and not without reason; it is an extremely effective combatant against various soil pests.
It is mainly used against fungus gnats, shore flies and thrips, but also has an effect against:
- Duponchelia
- Root aphid
- Straw mite and bulb mite
- Springtails
- Nematodes
- Blood mites in chickens and reptiles
- Varroa mite in bees
