Atheta coriaria
(Dalotia coriaria)
The greenhouse rove beetle
Atheta coriaria is a predatory beetle of approximately 4mm in size. Both the larva and adult beetle move quickly and are known for their active and aggressive feeding behaviour. The rove beetle hunts in the soil for common pests such as eggs and larvae of fungus gnats and shore flies and thrips pupae. It also has an effect against duponchelia, springtails and rootlice/mealybugs.

Because the adult beetle is able to fly, it will spread quickly in the area where it was released.
