Rhino-mite ®

(Rhabdocarpais mammillatus)

The heavyweight among predatory mites

The Rhino-mite is a relatively unknown predatory mite that was introduced to the market by Refona in 2023. It is a large predatory mite of a few millimeters in size that moves quickly. Because it is clearly visible to the naked eye, it is easy to observe and monitor in the crop.

Various tests have shown that the Rhino-mite is effective against most soil pests in greenhouses such as fungus gnats, bank flies and potworm (Lyprauta). It also has an effect against various thrips species.

The Rhino-mite likes to eat eggs and is therefore also suitable for use in the control of flies and red mites in stables.
